In July 1982, I purchased the property at 1413 Powell Rd which had a somewhat dilapidated 2 bay garage located on it. After endless cleaning, patching, repairing and painting, a part time business was started, laying the foundation for what became Gunn Automotive, Inc.

In July of 1983, we opened for business full time with two employees, my wife Dianne and I, 2 working bays, few tools, some piecemeal equipment and loads of enthusiasm. By the end of the year, we had already added three additional bays and equipment to fill them.

In 1984 we purchased the lot adjoining the rear of our existing property, expanding the shop to Wrightsboro Rd. By 1987 we were ready to expand again. We built a new 5 bay facility with a 2000 square ft. administrative area which includes the front counter, waiting area, office space, parts room and employee break area. By 1993, work had begun on the Dyess Parkway, Wrightsboro Rd project. We survived the construction and are now more visible than ever.

Over the years, we have purchased many different types of equipment including electronic analyzers, scan tools, state of the art alignment machines, lathes, lifts and information systems plus smaller tools too numerous to mention. It has been our goal to have the best equipment available to be able to diagnose and make repairs as efficiently as possible.

We have always tried to be a credit to our community and to have a modern, up to date auto repair facility that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity and ethical conduct.
